The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer plays a crucial role in solving complex business challenges by leveraging data from various sources to provide actionable insights for decision-makers. In this position, you will tackle moderately complex to highly complex issues that require thorough analysis and evaluation of multiple factors.
Your work will directly support market and corporate leaders by delivering data-driven insights on provider contracts and related processes. We seek candidates who possess strong analytical skills to explore, analyze, and effectively present insights derived from intricate datasets. You will have considerable freedom in determining objectives and executing complex projects with minimal supervision. The responsibilities of the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer include :
Collaborating with Humana corporate, market, and network leaders to identify business strategies and analytical needs, while implementing technologies to address those needs.
Contributing to cross-functional data analysis and reporting initiatives, delivering insights and actionable recommendations.
Acting as the data and visualization expert within your assigned projects, maintaining high development standards.
Providing mentorship to colleagues, promoting best practices, particularly in low-code development using Microsoft Power Apps.
Building optimized, scalable, and well-documented analytical processes for integrating, summarizing, and analyzing data from various platforms, in line with departmental standards.

Required Qualifications :
At least 3 years of experience writing complex SQL queries on large datasets and visualizing results with modern BI tools like Power BI.
Minimum of 1 year in designing, building, and maintaining solutions using low-code technologies, preferably Microsoft Power Apps / Power Automate.
Minimum of 1 year using Power BI report builder.
Proven ability to facilitate communication between business users and technical teams across functions.
Experience in consulting with users of various expertise levels to implement effective BI solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for engaging with senior and executive leadership.
A genuine passion for contributing to an organization committed to enhancing consumer experiences.
Work-from-Home Requirements :
A minimum internet download speed of 25 mbps and upload speed of 10 mbps is required; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connections are preferable.
Use of satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may only occur with leadership approval.
Associates working remotely from specific states will receive a bi-weekly payment to cover internet expenses.
Humana will equip remote associates with necessary telephone equipment to meet business needs.
Maintain a dedicated workspace free from interruptions to safeguard member information.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification in Power BI, Power Platform, or Power Apps.
Experience with Python for developing automated solutions.
Familiarity with MS SQL Server, PL / SQL, Hive, Hadoop, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
Experience analyzing medical claims and provider data, with a focus on Humana's internal datasets.
History of developing analytics solutions within the healthcare industry.

Pay Range :
The pay range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, skills, and experience.
$89,000 - $121,400 per year
This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and company performance.
