Casual Courtroom Assistant

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with judges, court personnel, attorneys, jurors, and the public and is bound by rigid guidelines to keep all jurors secure for trials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Setup courtroom. Check-in jurors. Keep jurors assembled & guide them through court. Be the liaison between the courtroom work group and the jurors. Coordinating daily juror activities. Maintain a good working relationship with the judges, court personnel, jurors, and the public. Knowledge of courtroom procedures. Keep jurors secure and handle all their needs. Ensure courtroom proceedings are followed as to not cause a mistrial. Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Education and / or Experience : High school diploma or equivalent and zero to six months of relevant prior experience. Proven experience in legal terminology. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and / or the work unit within the department and information is provided to others for decision making.
