Summary / Objective :
The Universal Member Service Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional member service by handling a wide range of banking transactions, providing expert advice on financial products, and meeting the consumer lending needs of our members. This role requires a deep understanding of credit union operations, consumer lending practices, and a commitment to fostering strong relationships with members.
Duties / Responsibilities :

- Accurately handle member and non-member transactions
- Responding to member and potential member inquiries
- Balance and detail (cash drawer, recycler, coin machine and vault as scheduled - daily, weekly, etc.)
- Reconcile all ITM accepted negotiable items against reports for accuracy - weekly, if applicable
- Answer phones
- Accurately open and close accounts, while ensuring required forms and records are completed in compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations.
- Order / count cash
- Ensure all audit and security policies and procedures are followed
- Scan negotiable items and other member documents
- Process night drop deposits and payments
- Verify and balance Travel and Gift cards
- Order supplies for location
- Compile End-Of-Month work
- Process check orders
- Filing, shredding, etc.
- Assist with loan applicants including processing and closing loan applications
- Assist Branch Manager and other team members
- May be required to handle responsibilities during Manager’s absence
Required education and experience
12 - 18 months credit union experience or other financial institution experience with internal sales experienceHigh School diploma, GED, or Equivalent CertificateAssociates or Bachelor’s degree preferredComplete satisfactorily all in-house trainingExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsA strong understanding of delivering exceptional member service.Proficient computer / technology skillsREGISTRATIONS
This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) and registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Must be registered and approved by the NMLS registry within sixty days of hire date. Failure to register or maintain a current registry, or any criminal activity that would bar continued participation as a MLO may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
