Unit : Labor & Delivery (WP 4 L&D)

Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : November 14, 2025

End Date : February 13, 2026

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00); block scheduling available

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

On-call : 2 four-hour blocks per 6-week schedule

Guaranteed Hours : Yes

Orientation : 36 hours

Charting System : Epic EMR

Scrubs : Provided

Parking : On-site ($125 / month)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100 - $2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel nursing experience)

Active Registered Nurse license (CT RN license must be active prior to start date; pending license accepted)

BLS and NRP certifications required

Epic charting experience preferred

Ability to work every other weekend and participate in on-call rotation

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

One professional reference required

Not accepting local candidates (must live more than 75 miles from facility)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit (400-500 deliveries / month)

Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal births

Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and provide breastfeeding / lactation support

Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and insulin drips

Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and respond to abnormal findings

Participate in rapid response / code teams as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Support patient safety and quality standards in a Level I Trauma Center environment
