Renown's physicians foster the teaching of residents and medical students from The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Working with an established Research Department provides support to coordinate clinical trials or take the opportunity to conduct research on the university campus.
The ideal candidate will have completed a 4 year Neurology Residency and minimum 1 year Movement Disorder Fellowship.
The Movement Disorder Neurologist will help further the Movement Disorder program by accurately diagnosing movement disorders and develop comprehensive management plans and incorporate various therapeutic options including medications, and injections.
The specialist will also be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team that assists with deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantation, working alongside Neurosurgeons to identify suitable patients, guide surgical planning, and handle post-operative care and programming of the device. The physician will perform pre-surgical evaluations, monitor patient progress, and fine-tune the DBS system's settings to manage symptoms effectively after the neurosurgery is completed.
