Job Summary :
The primary role of the Compounding Lab Technician Student is to utilize quality assurance laboratory skills experience to learn how to handle, mix and fill compounded medications safely and accurately. You will verify the accuracy of labels, logs, and ingredients utilized to compound medication. You will compound and dispense the correct quantities of medication along with required patient supplies and information. You will provide support regarding the day-to-day activities and workflow throughout the lab.

- Learn proper pharmacy operating procedures in compounding industry, including terminology, compounding techniques and quality assurance measures.
- Learn to verify accuracy of prescription labels, compounding logs, and ingredients used for prescription.
- Learn to count or measure correct quantities of medication.
- Learn to compound non-sterile medications following proper techniques and vocabulary in each station.
- Learn to include correct patient supplies, such as applicators, inserts / adapters, and syringes.
- Learn to provide patients with educational inserts, warnings, and other information.
- Learn to understand and effectively utilize information located on logs.
- Learn to understand and follow quality assurance measures in each station.
- Learn to utilize Rx30, Tracking, Pink Notes, and Compound Assist software.
- Learn to maintain required regulatory documentation.
- Pass training assessments in each station; observed and signed-off by Training Specialist or pharmacist.
- Address purchasing needs and inventory levels.
- Meet assigned objectives, goals, and metrics.
- Effectively communicate any needs or issues with management.
- Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and / or assigned as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related laboratory sciencesMinimum of 2 years as Quality Assurance Technician, Laboratory Assistant, or related field.Ability to become licensed as Pharmacy Technician within 3 – 6 months (employer sponsored programPhysical Requirements :
Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.Effective communication skills via telephone and email.Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.20 / 20 vision (with or without corrective aids) required for visual inspection of drug products, in accordance with legal requirements.Benefits :
