We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support Lead Teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. This role is vital in fostering early childhood development, ensuring safety, and promoting educational growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood education principles, including special education and behavior management. Previous experience in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings is highly valued. Duties: - Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities aligned with early childhood education standards
- Support children with their individual learning needs
- Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and nap times to ensure safety and well-being
- Help with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies
- Provide basic caregiving functions such as diapering, toddler care, infant care, and assisting with potty training
- Support children's social-emotional development through nurturing interactions and guidance
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a clean learning environment
- Administer first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all children
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and needs
Qualifications: - Minimum of 9 early childhood credits, or related field, including at least one 3 credit course in child growth and development, from a regionally accredited college OR Child Development Associate Credential
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings preferred
- Knowledge of NH Child Care Program Licensing Rules
- Knowledge of childhood development, early childhood education, and classroom management techniques
- Childcare certifications such as first aid or CPR
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Compassionate attitude with patience and understanding for diverse learning needs
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
