Savannah College of Art and Design is hiring : Part Time Professor, Motion Media

In this teaching position you will be required to plan and prepare comprehensive lessons, maintain an active and engaged classroom environment addressing a variety of learning styles, and provide timely feedback to students to aid in their academic progress. You will be responsible for syllabus design, submissionforapproval; holding office hours and conducting midterm grade reviews; providing extra-help sessions, suggesting extended-learning opportunities, guiding studytrips; and conducting course-and program-level assessments with support from academic leadership. This position will require you to balance teaching of aesthetic skills (e.g. design principles, animation principles), technical skills (e.g. software instruction in animation, compositing etc.), and professional skills (e.g. communication, self-promotion).

The position entails modeling professionalism, fulfilling grading and academic documentation requirements, recording attendance, following academic policies andprocedures, and supporting academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Other responsibilities include attending on-siteand virtual events, such as faculty meetings and admission events; curriculum assessment and development; institutional effectiveness and accreditation support; and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Terminal degree in a relevant field
• Academic and professional credentials to teach motion mediadesign
• Experience in or knowledge of motion design or related professions

Preferred Qualifications :

Travel Required : Less than 10%

Work Hours : As noted in the employment agreement.
