Electrical / Electronic Production Technician

Location : Canton, Ohio

Job Type : Full-time

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of AC and DC power systems for the utility, industrial, and transit sectors, is seeking a skilled Electrical / Electronic Production Technician . This role involves performing quality verification and electrical controls testing within a production environment to ensure customer satisfaction, reliability, and overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures .

Work with ladder logic and relay control schematics .

Conduct quality tests and electrical verifications on industrial electrical equipment and maintain accurate test records.

Verify BOMs, mechanical drawings, interlock systems, and electrical controls ; identify and report quality issues.

Operate power supplies ranging from 125 VDC to 1000 VAC and current generators up to 30,000 amps .

Test components including CTs (current transformers), PTs (potential transformers), shunts, and transducers .

Diagnose and resolve electrical and technical issues using strong troubleshooting skills.

Interpret electrical schematics and apply a solid understanding of basic electrical theory .

Use various testing instruments and diagnostic tools as required.

Travel up to 20% as needed.

(Preferred) Experience in power substation testing including :

Dielectric Testing (HiPot 80 KV)

CT / PT / Shunt Verification

Transformer Testing (systems from 5-38 KVAC and 600-1600 VDC)

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year technical degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).

2+ years of field service or testing experience preferred.

Experience with switchgear applications is a plus.

Familiarity with ANSI C37.20 test standards is an advantage.

Proficient with MS Office applications .
