Our client is seeking a Clinical Director of Adult Medicine. This role is ideal for a dedicated and ambitious Internal Medicine or Family Physician who is passionate about adult medicine and eager to take on a leadership position in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Clinical Director will play a key role in leading the adult medicine department to ensure the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. While the position typically requires significant administrative experience, the organization is open to candidates who demonstrate the potential to succeed in this capacity.
The department is recognized for its excellence in chronic disease management, including a nationally recognized diabetes program, a top-performing Ryan White program, and a strong Care Coordination team. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer and working closely with the Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases, the Clinical Director will provide both direct clinical care and administrative oversight. The role will support continuous improvement in clinical operations, provider workflow, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited medical school; board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Licensed (or license-eligible) Physician in Connecticut (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality patient care efficiently.
Comfort working with underserved populations with complex healthcare needs.
Leadership experience in a healthcare setting (Director or Associate Director role preferred).
Experience with provider recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management.
Familiarity with compliance requirements relevant to adult medicine.
Ability to supervise advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs).
Experience contributing to strategic planning and departmental goals.
Strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team collaboration.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with staff, patients, and external partners.
Data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze and present clinical and operational data.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
