UTHSC, in partnership with Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital, seeks a dedicated Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) to deliver exceptional clinical care while mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. This unique role blends hands-on patient care (95%) with academic engagement (5%), offering a dynamic career opportunity for passionate clinicians invested in both practice and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Excellence (95%):
Provide advanced acute care to pediatric patients at Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital, a nationally ranked pediatric facility.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose, treat, and manage complex pediatric conditions.
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in fast-paced inpatient and/or critical care settings.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and quality standards.
Academic Leadership (5%):
Mentor UTHSC nursing students through clinical rotations, case reviews, and skills development.
Participate in curriculum design, simulation training, or lectures as needed.
Foster a supportive learning environment aligned with UTHSCs academic mission.
Qualifications:
Required:
Masters or Doctorate in Nursing (Pediatric Acute Care specialization).
Current certification as a Pediatric Acute Care NP (PNP-AC).
Active TN APRN license (or eligibility) and DEA registration.
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in pediatric acute/critical care.
Preferred:
Prior precepting, teaching, or academic experience.
Strong communication skills and passion for mentorship.
