Property Tax Accounting Specialist

The primary role of the Property Tax Specialist is to prepare and file property tax returns and renditions, as well as process property tax bills for payment. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate filing of over 3,000 property tax returns annually. Additionally, the role involves identifying and improving current tax processes and the use of technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy, minimizing business disruptions and customer impacts.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and file property tax returns and renditions, and make tax bill payments.
• Initiate and complete tax process improvement projects, leveraging technology and sharing best practices.
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
• Review property tax assessments for validity and accuracy.
• Assist the Property Tax Supervisor and Director with tax audits, refund support, and related research.
• Assist in general ledger account reconciliations and refund analysis as necessary.

Work Environment :

This position is based in a hybrid work environment in Owings Mills, requiring three days in the office and two days working remotely. The role involves using technology and software to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owings Mills, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
