Summary :
The IT Business Analyst will provide information and consultation to company members and the IT team about how all dealer business system processes work. They will understand process and workflow in the business, including cause and effect of all major transactions. Possesses in depth knowledge of the connections to third party systems (both manufacturer systems and software products employed by the organization). The position will deliver training and be the liaison between information systems, key management and users of the organization and operating company’s management and key users.
Key Responsibilities :
- Possesses in depth knowledge of options in each major systems’ (Machine / Unit inventory and sales, parts inventory and order entry, service work order control, financial modern ERP, etc.) transactions and how they affect the core and third-party systems
- Communicates with both information systems team members and key system users in a manner allowing them to become proficient in understanding the cause and effect of application programs
- Creates and publishes readable, easy-to-use documents and flow charts of system processes and their relationships to software applications. Update the documents on an ongoing basis to reflect changes and revisions to applications and processes
- Uses report writer and query software to produce ad hoc data sets and reports. This skill will require the proficient understanding of how the DBS system data tables relate to each other (data relationships). The logic skill set will be similar to a system developer, but application coding will not be required
- Conducts QC testing to determine if a process works and / or how it can be improved. The primary function of QC testing is to not only to “break” the software but to provide input for improvement in the process before general distribution. Any and all bugs found will be reported and fixed before general distribution
Assists in solving business process problems encountered by application users and determines if the process / software needs improvement, or if the problem is a user knowledge / training issue
Qualifications :
Experience in Business Analyst function in coordination with IT / IS departmentPrevious work in logistics, inventory management, or a like industryExposure to working with ERP systems and technologyExperience working with and applying Agile practices and methodologiesExperience with Power BI for data accessProficiency in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and developing solutions for business requirements.Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with query software to generate reports and data sets.Knowledge of basic business functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fundamental accounting principles.
