Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D)\n💼 Position : Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery\n⏳ Contract Length : [Insert length, e.g., 13 Weeks]\n🚫 Local Policy : No local candidates within 72 miles (strictly enforced)\n\nPosition Overview : \n\nThe facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-volume, fast-paced obstetrics team. This RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and recovery, while supporting a Baby-Friendly hospital environment focused on patient safety and family-centered care.\n\nUnit Details : \n\nL&D Beds : 12 Labor Beds\n\nAntepartum Beds : 5\n\nOperating Rooms : 2\n\nOB Emergency Room (Triage) : 6 beds\n\nBirth Volume : 150–200 births per month\n\nStaffing Ratios : Follows AWHONN guidelines\n\nCharge Nurse : Yes (outside staffing grid)\n\nOB Techs / OR Techs : Support C-sections, vaginal deliveries, stocking, and surgical procedures (cerclage, tubal ligation)\n\nLactation Consultant : In-house support available\n\nNeonatology & OB Hospitalist : In-house 24 / 7\n\nIV & RT Teams : Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24 / 7\n\nTelemetry / Vents : None\n\nShifts & Scheduling : \n\nShifts : 6 : 45 AM or 6 : 45 PM\n\nWeekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n\nHoliday Rotation : Rotates with permanent staff\n\nFloating : As needed to Postpartum\n\nCall Requirement : Minimal; not all contracts include call\n\nFloor-Specific Orientation : 2 shifts\n\nRequirements : \n\nExperience : Minimum 2 years in specialty (Labor & Delivery)\n\nTravel Experience : Required\n\nCertifications : \n\nBLS (Basic Life Support)\n\nACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)\n\nNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)\n\nIntermediate or Advanced EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)\n\nSystems : \n\nFetal Monitoring : OB Trace (FHM System)\n\nEMR : Meditech\n\nAdditional Details : \n\nScrubs : Provided by hospital\n\nCommon Patient Types : High-risk OB, routine OB, antepartum admissions, and post-surgical maternity patients\n\nEnvironment : Collaborative L&D unit with strong multidisciplinary support and Baby-Friendly designation
