Position Summary
The Quality Excellence role serves as a strategic leader and partner within the North America Quality & Compliance organization, responsible for driving the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of quality systems, performance, and regional project initiatives. This position integrates quality systems management, project leadership, and capability building to enable a high-performing, compliant, and innovative quality organization. The role collaborates across business units, global and regional teams, and supporting functions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of quality, inclusion, and operational excellence.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Program Management - Lead teams to provide oversight and strategic direction for quality systems, performance improvement, and key initiatives supporting Global Supply Chain and Quality & Compliance. Develop and execute regional strategies, programs, and action plans to achieve quality and compliance targets and business objectives. Represent the region as the single point of contact for global quality system and process owners, ensuring timely and compliant deployment of guidance, systems, and standards.
Project Integration & Capabilities Development - Drive implementation and delivery of regional projects and strategic initiatives, including assessment, design, and execution of capability-building strategies. Oversee project plans, governance processes, and execution for regional initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely achievement of milestones. Support change management efforts and lead organizational change initiatives in collaboration with Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and other functions.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance - Lead harmonization and standardization of processes, leveraging best practices within the region and globally. Provide strategic direction for improvement programs, including processes, compliance, financials, digital transformation, and technology adoption. Act as liaison for inspection readiness, audits, and closure of compliance gaps.
Collaboration & Relationship Building - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams, business partners, and industry groups, to drive alignment and improvement across the Quality & Compliance organization. Represent the region in governance meetings, industry benchmarking, and regulatory development activities.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting - Monitor project and sub-project execution, provide regular status updates to leadership, and escalate quality / compliance issues as needed. Evaluate and measure progress of capability-building initiatives and conduct progress reviews with leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
Education : Minimum Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field; Master's or advanced degree preferred.
Experience : Minimum 510 years in Quality & Compliance, project management, and regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, OTC, Cosmetics). People leadership experience required.
Skills & Abilities : Proven program / project management and strategic planning. Strong operational knowledge of quality systems and compliance requirements (cGMP, regulatory authority enforcement). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills; ability to influence in a matrix organization. Business and financial acumen; analytical skills for sound decision-making. Experience with digital transformation, data analytics, and technology adoption. Ability to work in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MA / MS / MBA).
PMP or FPX certification.
Experience in process excellence, innovation, and digital agenda setting.
Experience with industry benchmarking and regulatory engagement.
Key Working Relationships
Collaborate with NA Q&C Leadership Team, global process owners, supporting functions (Operations, Finance, HR), and external industry groups.
Lead and participate in internal and external working groups to drive business leveraging and identify improvement opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct management of Quality Excellence and Quality Systems personnel (team size may vary per business needs).
Responsible for hiring, training, performance reviews, and resource management.
Travel
Less than 20% domestic travel as required by business needs
What's in It For You
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges :
$190,825.00 - $269,400.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
