Job description

Human Resource Representative

This position is based in Austin, TX. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to perform administrative functions to support the day-to-day HR operations of a research center.

Responsibilities

Create and post new positions. Process new hires, initiate background checks. Ensure new employees complete onboarding tasks in Workday. Serve as I-9 partner.

Process GRA appointments and tuition payments. Coordinate GRA evaluations.

Process HR transactions such as reallocations, transfers, reclassifications, additional duties pay, and other changes to employment for center staff. Update accounting spreadsheets and maintain digital files on Box according to these changes.

Manages HR inbox and serves as a resource to center staff regarding university policies. Serves as liaison between MCPER, COE HR and Finance teams, and SWS.

Review and approve timesheets. Communicate timekeeping guidelines to center staff as needed. Run Workday reports to ensure timesheet completion. Process leave balance payouts for terminated employees.

Perform periodic internal audits and as requested by the COO. Process key requests. Work with COO on space management. Grant Community Pages access to new hires. Review FTEs on Grants spreadsheet on a monthly basis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Human Resources administration or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a university environment.
  • Prior experience using Workday.
  • Familiarity with UT policies and procedures.
  • Salary Range

    $50,474 - $55,000

    Employment Eligibility : Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers.     Retirement Plan Eligibility : The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

    Background Checks : A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
