Admissions Advisor
Emory University is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Candler School of Theology as an Admissions Advisor. This key role focuses on recruiting for Candler's distinguished two-year master's programs, including those geared towards individuals discerning a call to vocational ministry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying and engaging prospective students, guiding them from inquiry through matriculation, and cultivating relationships with key influencers within the theological and broader academic community.
Key responsibilities include :
- Recruiting students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and rating applications of students applying for admission.
- Conducting information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours.
- Assisting in coordinating alumni volunteer activities.
- May review and edit financial aid forms.
- Composng correspondence, and designing and generating reports.
- Maintaining communication via telephone, correspondence, and / or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
- Performing related responsibilities as required.

Recruiting students by representing Candler at college recruitment fairs, ministry events, and other settings where prospective students may be found.Promoting and advocating for Candler's two-year degree programs, specifically the Master of Theological Studies, Master of Arts in Religion and Leadership, and Master of Religion and Public Life, ensuring these programs are well-represented in all recruitment activities.Leading information sessions for visiting students and their families, conducting campus tours, and serving as a knowledgeable resource throughout the admissions process.Maintaining consistent and effective communication with prospective students and key influencers through various channels, including telephone, email, and direct correspondence, ensuring a seamless experience from initial contact to enrollment.Working closely with the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and other team members to develop and enhance recruitment strategies that align with Candler's mission and goals.Assisting in coordinating faculty and alumni activities to support recruitment efforts.Minimum qualifications include :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Preferred qualifications include :
Theological Education : A graduate degree in theology, ministry, or university student recruitment, with prior experience in a graduate theological school setting being highly desirable.Design Proficiency : Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools is preferred for creating recruitment and marketing materials.Technical Proficiency : Strong working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with enrollment management software (e.g., Slate) is desirable.Recruitment Expertise : Proven ability to plan, develop, and execute effective student recruitment strategies.Travel : Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel extensively for recruitment purposes.Note : Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.
