About The Position

Job Title : Paramedic

Location :  Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, 620 John Paul Jones Circle, Portsmouth, VA 23708

Tentative Start Date :  March 13, 2026

No. of FTEs Required :  10

Work Schedule :  24 / 7 operation; rotating 8-10, or 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts. Typical shifts may include 0600–1800, 1500–2300, 2200–0600, or 1800–0600.

Weekend and holiday shifts required. Not to exceed 80 hours in a two-week pay period.

Overage :  Variable; assigned on an as-needed basis to cover emergent or extended shifts to maintain patient safety and mission continuity. Estimated 200 total hours annually across the Paramedic staff.

Qualifications :

• Education :  Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program that meets National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) standards. Equivalent education substitutions are not permitted for this position.
