Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Tupelo, MS 38801 (Mississippi healthcare jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown Unit (16 beds)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)

Start Date : December 3, 2025 or December 17, 2025

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : 3-1-3 or 6 on / 8 off (details at contract start)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780 - $1910

Floating : Required to other stepdown units

Weekend & Holiday : Rotations required (Christmas Eve / Day and New Year's Eve / Day)

EMR : Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Mississippi RN license (Registered Nurse)

At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown or acute care nursing

Current BLS and ACLS certifications

NIH Stroke Scale certification

Ability to pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia tests (minimum 80%)

Flexible and fully available for scheduling (no block / self-scheduling)

Not employed at NMMC as perm / per diem in past 12 months

Willing to float to units within competency

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 16-bed unit

Monitor and assess patients with complex cardiac and neurological conditions

Administer medications and manage IVs using Omnicell system

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop patient care plans

Document patient care in Epic EMR

Float to other stepdown units as needed

Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
