What You'll Do : Your Essential Role in Patient Access
As our Medical Secretary / Patient Access Representative, you'll manage the critical administrative functions that keep our clinic running efficiently and compassionately :
- Front-Line Patient Advocate : Be the professional first point of contact, greeting and checking in patients with warmth and efficiency, both in person and over the phone.
- Data Integrity & Registration : Accurately collect and enter complex patient demographic, insurance, and financial information into our EHR system (EPIC proficiency is a must!) . Ensure all necessary consents, including HIPAA forms, are completed.
- Scheduling & Coordination : Expertly manage provider schedules, booking and rescheduling appointments, confirming upcoming visits, and following up on cancellations and no-shows.
- Financial Clearance Guru : Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage. You'll be responsible for obtaining essential pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals . You will also collect co-payments and outstanding balances at the time of service.
- Administrative Backbone : Maintain strict patient confidentiality in adherence to all HIPAA regulations . Keep patient records organized, manage the front desk area, and handle general clerical duties (faxing, scanning, data entry).
