- Conduct eye exams : Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses : Determine the appropriate prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
- Treat eye conditions : Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, such as dry eyes or infections.
- Advise on eye health : Educate patients on proper eye care practices and recommend treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals : Work with opticians, ophthalmologists, and primary care doctors.
- Stay updated on industry trends : Attend trainings and conferences to keep abreast of advancements in eye care.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in optometry or a related field such as biology, chemistry, or pre-optometry studies.Completion of a Doctor of Optometry (OD) program from an accredited institution.Experienced optometrist preferredParticipate in clinical rotations / internships to gain hands-on experience.Continuous education to stay updated on new advancements and technologies in the field.
