Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Mother Baby Care Unit offers specialized care for post-partum and post-GYN surgical teen to adult women and normal newborns. Our highly trained and caring staff provides education to the entire family during and after the pregnancy, as well as IV therapy, fetal monitoring and, diabetes education. In addition, the staff monitors patients requiring bed rest for premature delivery, post-surgical C-section, regular deliveries and postpartum complications. The Mother Baby Care Unit provides support to mothers and their newborns in an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the family unit.

You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications :  Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. One (1) year recent registered nurse experience in postpartum and / or Mother Baby Care Unit.

Preferred Qualifications :  Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field. Two (2) years recent registered nurse experience in postpartum and Mother Baby Care Unit. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR card.
