Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years Med / Surg / Telemetry RN experience required License : Active RN License Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have : - Certification in medical-surgical nursing is a plus - Must be able to pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding - Skills required include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use - Familiarity with common drips such as insulin and heparin, and titration to heart rate Description : Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical / Telemetry. This role involves working with a busy and team-oriented unit. You will be responsible for managing patients with various medical-surgical and telemetry needs. Patient ratios are typically 1 : 4-6 for RNs and LPNs, and up to 1 : 14 for CNAs. Support staff will assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, bathing, bed changes, and feeding as needed. Resource nurses and a telemetry tech are available 24 / 7. Central telemetry monitoring is provided, along with a commitment to patient safety. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and relevant medical equipment is essential. Travelers may be required to float to all medical-surgical and telemetry units in the facility as needed.
