As an Engineering Manager at rePurpose Global you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of engineers while serving as an independent contributor as required. This role will start as predominantly an IC role, evolving into a manager role as the team continues to grow. We're looking for a player / coach who loves to build products while mentoring and growing a team of engineers. You will collaborate heavily with our product managers and other business leaders throughout the company to ensure alignment between our products and people.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of full-stack engineers : provide mentorship and career guidance, organize sprint plans, run performance reviews.
• Independent contributions : as a player / coach you will be expected to contribute code directly.
• Collaborate with product and design teams on roadmapping, refining requirements and estimation.
• Work closely with the VP of Engineering to refine our processes and technical architecture.
• Project manage the team's work, ensuring adherence to deadlines and best practices.
• Excellent leadership skills, combining a low-ego approach, competitive spirit, and ability to motivate and empower others
• 7+ years of total experience, with at least 2 years of management experience
• Experience working in a start-up environment with a fast pace and evolving needs
• Experience with the following technologies : Typescript, Nodejs, Relational databases (we use Postgres but any similar experience works!), Modern frontend frameworks (we use Vue, but experience with React or Angular works too), Cloud infrastructure (we use AWS, but experience with GCP or Azure is acceptable), CI / CD
• Biased towards action. You are thoughtful in planning how to build technology but are not afraid to make decisions and do the work that is required to get results

$160,000 - $180,000 a year

We offer a flexible salary range for this job posting that will be customized based on the qualifications of the chosen candidate. Our compensation strategy takes into account various factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment.

Location Preference :

The role is hybrid working, we are looking for the team members to be located at our head office in New York, with weekly in-office days. We have a truly global team - with members across Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, London, Nairobi, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jakarta.
