Shipping Associate (Production Setting) needed at family-owned meat processing facility in Eastpointe, MI!

Shift is 6 : 00AM - 2 : 30PM, M-F. OT required periodically in support of customer orders. Pay rate is $17.00 an hour. This is a Contract to Hire - 90 Days.

Job Duties :

• Operate manual push / pull pallet jack -Manual pallet jack experience is preferred (any experience). If candidate does not have the experience, he or she must at least be aware of what a pallet jack does and must have had experience working around a pallet jack. -Candidate must have the capacity and willingness to quickly learn pallet jack operation, if he or she has no experience (will train).
• Sporadically (less than 5% of time) operate forklift -Forklift experience is preferred (any experience). If candidate does not have the experience, he or she must at least be aware of what a forklift does and must have had experience working around a forklift. -Candidate must have the capacity and willingness to quickly learn forklift operation (will train)
• Maintain organized / accurate records and paperwork - Work in a cold environment with temperatures ranging from 39-44 degrees Fahrenheit (dress in layers) - Assist with equipment sanitation, maintain a clean work area - Must be open to rotating throughout shift depending on production needs (across depts.) - Pick and pack orders according to customer requirements - Weigh and measure shipments, ensuring accuracy - Periodically generate shipping documents - Maintain shipping logs and records - Verify outgoing shipments, matching shipment with orders

This role requires the ability to consistently lift up to 40 lbs throughout the shift. Candidates must adhere to facility food GMPs and will sign off on this policy to insure agreement. Candidates must be able to work OT after the shift, as needed, to support customer orders.
