Ambulatory Coding Compliance Manager
Under the general direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle, provides managerial oversight and technical support for ambulatory coding and charge capture functions. Responsible for insuring accurate diagnosis and procedure coding as well as providing documentation and coding related feedback and educational services to providers. Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills required. Previous supervisory experience required. A minimum of three to five years coding experience (ICD-9-CM, CPT) in an ambulatory facility required. Comprehensive knowledge of CPT coding methodologies and regulatory requirements a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with the medical staff. Demonstrated leadership skills required. Ability to converse with physicians regarding coding and documentation. Ability to plan, write and deliver training materials specific to coding / documentation matters. Proficiency in PC “Office” applications required.
Education : Associate Degree required, BA Preferred.
Certification / Licensure : CPC required. Member of AAPC or AHIMA preferred.
Software / Hardware : Experience and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
