Job Information

This is an on-site position for a DGS Commercial Print Production Manager in the Department of General Services, Printing and Media Services Division, Davidson County.

Qualifications

Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to four years of mail processing, postal services, printing services, production work involving setting up, operating or monitoring machines, bindery, or hand production work including at least two years of production supervisory or managerial work.

Substitution of Experience for Education : Qualifying experience in mail processing, postal services, printing services, production work involving setting up, operating or monitoring machines, bindery, or hand production work may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Substitution of Education for Experience : Additional qualifying coursework at an accredited college, university, technical institute, business school, or vocational or trade school in graphic arts, printing or a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years, there being no substitution for the required supervisory experience.

Necessary Special Qualifications

Certain positions in this class may be required to meet the following requirements :

• Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
• Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority.
• Supply a fingerprint sample in a manner prescribed by the TBI for a fingerprint based criminal history records check.
• A valid motor vehicle operator license.

Overview

Under general supervision, performs production managerial work of considerable difficulty; and performs related work as required.
