Job Title : Supported Living Services (SLS) Instructor Full-Time

Location :

Glendale, CA / Greater Los Angeles Area

Compensation : $18.00 per hour

Full-Time Position (40 hours / week)

Position Summary :

Vision Life is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and bilingual SLS Instructor to support adults with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and dementia in their homes and communities. The ideal candidate will be behavioral-trained, experienced in personal care and hygiene support, and sensitive to the challenges faced by individuals who may also have a history of homelessness. Shifts are 6am-2pm immediate, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am!!!!!

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide direct support to adults with developmental disabilities and dementia in their homes and in the community
• Assist with daily living tasks, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and meal preparation
• Implement behavioral support strategies and maintain a calm, structured environment
• Support clients in managing mental health symptoms and coping with trauma or prior homelessness
• Assist with medical appointments, medication reminders, and health monitoring
• Encourage independence through goal setting and skill-building
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, and behavioral observations
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team
• Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate support in both English and Spanish

Qualifications :

Must speak fluent Spanish and English

Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and / or mental illness

Trained in behavior intervention techniques (CPI, ABA, or similar preferred)

Comfortable and skilled with personal care, hygiene, and mobility support

High school diploma or equivalent (AA or relevant coursework preferred)

Valid California Drivers License and reliable transportation

Must pass LiveScan background check, physical, and TB test

Familiarity with trauma-informed care and homelessness-related issues is a plus

Schedule :

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Availability to work weekdays and occasional weekends or evenings as needed
