American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring current SD / PCU experience and proficiency with Epic EMR.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Cardiac Stepdown or Advanced Care Unit of a hospital settingTypical patient ratios are 1 : 5-6Patient population includes heart failure, chest pain rule out, NSTEMI, post-procedure, COPD exacerbation, drug / ETOH overdose, and withdrawalPatients require management of IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulinNight shift schedule : four 12-hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30)Traveler will be the first to float as needed within specialty clusters or between campuses located within 15 milesUse of Epic EMR requiredEvery other weekend and holiday work requiredRNs will be responsible for running IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulinMust wear navy blue scrubs as dress codeMust request all time off with initial application; no additional RTO approved after offerTravelers may float between main campus and satellite campuses as assignedPremier Health may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low censusModules required during orientation with up to 24 self-reported hoursFirst time travelers are welcome but travel experience is preferredLocal candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for RN positions\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license required; any state RN license accepted with option to apply for temp licenseMinimum 1.5 years of recent SD / PCU experience, with demonstrated 1 : 5 ratio experienceExperience with Epic EMR requiredMust pass an online EKG / telemetry competency assessment prior to startCertifications required : BLS and NIH; ACLS preferredAbility to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips requiredIV start competency requiredN95 fit testing required prior to work on select unitsNo prior license action permitted\n Benefits\n
