Multi‑Axis CNC Lathe / Mill Machinist

Snapshot

Pay : $28.00–$35.00 per hour
Shifts : Multiple shifts available
Location : Irwin, PA

Primary Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specs to determine machining strategy.

Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and manual machines : lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.

Program, zero, and troubleshoot CNC equipment to hold exacting tolerances.

Produce metal and plastic parts per specification using precision machining practices.

Monitor runs; optimize toolpaths, offsets, and parameters for throughput and quality.

Inspect finished components and correct deviations to meet quality standards.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Collaborate with peers and supervisors to improve processes and meet production goals.

Comply with safety rules and company procedures at all times.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience as a machinist with both CNC and conventional equipment.

Ability to read and apply blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.

Knowledge of CNC programming and the ability to diagnose / troubleshoot issues.

Understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, and precision measurement.

Strong math skills to perform shop‑floor calculations.

Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven, and organized.

Physically able to lift materials and run machines for extended periods.

Effective communicator and team player.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical / vocational training preferred.
