The physical therapist will utilize Electronic Medical Records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files. Responsibilities include guiding and monitoring patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up. Supervising PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care is also required. Effective communication with physicians and other individuals is essential to ensure quality patient care. The physical therapist will be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, and authorizations. Ensuring patient comfort and answering questions when necessary is an important part of this role. Collaboration with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up is expected. Proficiency in computer skills necessary to complete job requirements, including typing and EMR systems, is required. Independent decision-making regarding patient care will be necessary. Active participation in business marketing and referral processes may be required. Following HIPAA policies and procedures is mandatory. Familiarity with PT billing policies and procedures is important. Proficiency in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing of services is necessary. The position requires physical mobility, including sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour work days. Lifting 50 pounds and assisting patients with mobility restraints will be required. Supervisory responsibility includes overseeing PT Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care. This position works in a patient physical therapy clinic in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. Expected duties include protecting the privacy of all patient information in accordance with privacy policies and federal and state law. Employees must comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations. The physical demands include walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout working hours. Alertness for patient safety is paramount in this role. No travel is expected for this position.
