Description

A well-established, privately owned consumer goods company is seeking a detail-oriented part-time Payroll Coordinator to join its long-tenured, collaborative team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting a stable organization with low turnover and a strong culture of teamwork, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

The current Payroll Coordinator is retiring, and the team is looking for a dependable professional to take over payroll operations as soon as possible.

Location : Bradenton, FL (Hybrid / Onsite)

Schedule : Part-Time, T / Th / Hybrid Options - 25 hours per week

  • Option 1 : 3 days / week, 8 hours / day (fully onsite)
  • Option 2 : 5 days / week, ~5 hours / day, with 2 remote days per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for multiple cycles (semi-monthly & biweekly) using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Verify timecards, deductions, garnishments, and pay adjustments for accuracy.
  • Maintain payroll records including new hires, separations, and rate changes.
  • Coordinate with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate benefit deductions, tax withholdings, and GL reporting.
  • Support quarterly / annual payroll tax filings and W-2 preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll tax regulations and wage / hour laws.
  • Track sick leave, vacation, overtime, union differentials, and premium pay.
  • Prepare journal entries and provide general ledger support.
  • Assist with payroll process improvements (transitioning from paper timesheets).
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity across all payroll records.
  • Requirements

    Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience
  • ADP Workforce Now experience required (5+ years strongly preferred)
  • Multi-state payroll experience (handling ~70-160 employees)
  • Payroll tax, journal entry, and GL support experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting functions (AP / AR / clerk-level)
  • Preferred :

  • Experience with union payroll
  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Work Environment

  • Works closely with HR and Accounting
