Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Prep Laborer responsible for preparing welded units for painting. The role involves the use of various tools and techniques to ensure the units are clean, rust-free, and ready for the next stage of production.

Responsibilities

Grind off rust from welded units using grinders.

Burnish nooks and crannies with a wire wheel.

Remove welder splatter using a scraper.

Rinse welded units with water, apply a chemical wash, and rinse thoroughly.

Dry welded units completely using an air hose.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Collaborate within a team to meet and exceed productivity and quality expectations.

Adhere to company attendance expectations.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in quality inspection and paint preparation.

Experience with general labor tasks and assembly lines.

Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, and soldering equipment.

Competence in sanding techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED preferred.

Work Environment

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour shifts. Start and end times vary depending on business needs. Overtime is scheduled on Fridays from 6 am to noon.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairmont, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00 / hr.
