R&D Maintenance Services, Inc. provides operations and maintenance services on U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects throughout the southeast - since 1980. We are the Operations and Maintenance Contractor for the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway / Alabama Rivers Project providing machinery and facility maintenance and repair on several hundred miles of waterway and 9 locks / dams / spillways on the system. Position is based in Columbus, MS. R&D is an EEO Employer.

General Description :

Performs the full range of skilled carpenter trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of wood, drywall, or metal products used in industrial structures, facilities, recreation equipment, fences, handrails, docks and walkways, etc. Includes framing, decking, and finishing using a variety of standard and specialized hand and power tools and measuring equipment in both field and shop environments. Lead or assist with design, planning, layout, assessing requirements, and repair / installation.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS :

• Interior / Exterior demolition of walls and construction of new walls.
• Assess labor, material, and equipment needed for repair or upgrade of recreation structures.
• Repair / replacement of wood-decked ramps and docks.
• Layout and construction of temporary equipment access stairways and ramps.
• Remove and replace wood or fiber cement siding and trim.
• Repair or replace interior and exterior doors.
• Repair / Replacement of timber retaining walls and outdoor camping / recreation equipment.
• Repair / Replacement of decorative and security fencing.
