  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead the design and development of complete automation and cobot cells, including layout, process flow, and equipment selection.
  • Create and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for automation projects; manage procurement of equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring performance, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Integrate cobots with existing machinery, sensors, and software.
  • Develop and maintain software interfaces for sensors, actuators, PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment.
  • Debug and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and rapid issue resolution for equipment, tooling, and automation systems.
  • Manage and execute multiple automation and cobot projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans with clear roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Conduct simulation tests and system validations to refine integration processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to optimize workflows and support business goals.
  • Build and lead cross-functional technical teams, including sales engineers, application engineers, and integrators.
  • Develop training materials and provide hands-on training for operators, maintenance staff, and engineers on new automation and cobot systems.
  • Support employees on cobot operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Ensure all automation and cobot systems meet OSHA, ISO, and ANSI / RIA safety standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and configure safety-rated monitored stops, hand guiding, and speed / separation monitoring.
  • Validate safety interlocks and maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 10 + years of experience in automation, programming, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience with cobots (collaborative robots) and FANUC industrial robots.
  • Strong proficiency in robotics, embedded systems, C / C++, Python, and common communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, ROS).
  • Excellent debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
  • Experience in automation cell design from concept through commissioning.
  • Knowledge of safety standards for robotic and automated systems (ANSI / RIA, ISO).
  • Ability to analyze data, understand process flows, and respond to process variations.
  • Ability to create training programs and technical documentation tailored for operators and technicians.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing priorities under deadline pressure.
  • Soft Skills :

  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, self-driven attitude.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team environment.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing settings.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending.
