Area Vice President, U.S. Orthopedics Account Management, Central
to join our MedTech organization located in Central region (Central or Mountain Time Zone) of the United States.
This is a hybrid / remote role available in multiple cities within the Central U.S.
Position Overview :
The AVP, U.S. Orthopedic Account Management is responsible for overall management of our large Hospital System customers. This leader will develop and lead a highly effective team of Orthopedic Account Directors to achieve business plan objectives of revenue growth, price erosion and access to J&J Medtech's Orthopedic businesses.
Additional responsibilities will include :
Lead the team to develop business plans with customers.
Establish sustainable relationships with hospital and healthcare executives, key economic decision makers that enable transformation of the current commercial model through joint value which results in the ongoing reduction of costs, continuous process improvement, growth and profitability for both partners.
Work collaboratively and consultatively to match customers' needs and expectations with internal J&J capabilities (e.g. Professional Education, Supply Chain and Logistics, Data Analytics, and Health Economics, Finance, Marketing, R&D, Outcomes Research)
Guide team on strategies that translate sector & franchise specific goals into channel & customer specific business plans.
Assess customer needs and align internal resources to optimize customer and business goals, drive contracting, pricing and deal compliance.
Lead and support field contracting strategies, implementation and measurement
Lead engagement and collaboration with field sales, marketing, finance & enterprise counterparts, as appropriate to ensure strategies are aligned with broader organization & enterprise goals. Key customer advocate working closely with Sales AVPs & regional marketing leaders to facilitate execution against national strategies
Develop and mentor team on critical business competencies such as business insights and negotiation strategies as well as leadership imperatives
Provide awareness and training to key customers and partners regarding market trends
Set overall objectives and lead development to provide oversight of account metrics
Support the VP, Customer Strategy in the creation of an industry-leading capability of account management, services execution and deep customer insights in the market
Ensure coordinated execution of customer solutions through clinical and economic programs
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
10+ years of sales, account management, marketing, finance or general management / consulting experience required, with a combination of preferred
Minimum of five years of people management experience is required
Customer management experience preferred, including joint value creation and customer solutions
Financial acuity, market knowledge and analytics experience, along with contract management & negotiation experience
Knowledge of healthcare marketplace required; orthopedic marketplace experience is preferred
Excellent critical thinking and strong quantitative and analytical skills are required
Ability to effectively collaborate with peers, leaders and senior executives and navigate the organization and decision-making processes
Outstanding ability to think and lead strategically, along with strong attention to detail
Domestic travel, primarily within the U.S. West / Central US will be required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $178,000 to $307,050.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar / performance year.
Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
It is anticipated following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by Orthopaedics employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.
