Job Title : MRI Technologist
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the safe and effective use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. MRI technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
Evaluate patients to obtain correct order and prepare them for exams, ensuring that clinical history is documented while respecting confidentiality.
Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety and optimizing patient care, applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
Prepare and administer medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and / or transfer of data, post-processing of data if applicable.
Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others.
Assist licensed practitioners with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology
Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience
