To perform analysis of wine and grape components.
Essential Functions :

- Sample and perform pH, TA, brix, and nutritional analysis on grape juice and fermenting juice
- Sample and perform various analyses on bottled wine and wines in storage
- Perform basic wine analysis using instruments such as gas chromatograph, CO2 analyzer, alcolyzer, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autotitrator and chemistry analyzer.
- Read and interpret analytical results accurately and efficiently, adhering to strict record keeping policies
- Work under pressure with multiple requests, deadlines and prioritization of samples
- Chemical preparation (acids, bases, buffers, reference standards)
- Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including SQF standards
- Food Safety Responsibility : Report problems with the food safety system to supervisor
- Work safely and maintain a clean, organized work station
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in the sciencesRelated science degree preferred. Courses in enology or familiarity with winemaking and an appreciation of wine a plusYears of Experience : One or more years in similar position or in an academic lab environmentGood interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and work well with a teamValid California Driver's license and clean DMV reportWorking Conditions :

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
