Overview
To provide U.S. tax consulting and transactional support to RBC's businesses, including Capital Markets and Wealth Management, as well as advise on other RBC initiatives in the US. Assist in the development and implementation of RBC's US tax strategies; collaborate with business and functional partners to ensure compliance with tax laws and manage tax-related risks.
What will you do?
- Provide tax planning and consulting services for mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other corporate and business realignments.
- Provide tax consulting services for front office business transactions regarding impact to RBC and its affiliates.
- Implement tax planning ideas to optimize U.S. tax position of RBC and subsidiaries.
- Consult on tax return related matters including filing positions, elections, disclosures and presentations.
- Actively participate in formulating US tax strategies based on RBC's business plans and consistent with the Bank's global tax position and the evolving international tax landscape.
- Assist on tax audits and other controversy matters.
- Participate with industry groups to influence tax legislation and related guidance.
- Maintain expertise through keeping up with current tax legislation, regulations, cases and rulings as well as continuing professional education.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
J.D. and / or CPA and / or other advanced degree.Minimum 10 years of experience in a major public accounting practice, law practice or equivalent industry experience, advising complex multinational companies.Inbound and / or financial industry experience.Nice-to-have :
LL.M. Taxation or M.S. in accounting, tax or finance.Experience with mergers and acquisitions and reorganizations.Background in financial accounting and / or tax accountingWhat's in it for you?

This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
