General Surgery Locums Job in North Central Mississippi Seeking 24-hour Weekend / Holiday Call Cove rage

Jackson and Coker is pleased to be working with a facility located innorth / central Mississippi that needs General Surgery 24-hour weekend / vacation call coverage starting in February 2025 & ongoing through May 2025 (with the likelihood of extending beyond May). Once credentialed, you cananticipate being offered to pick up 1-2 weekends per quarter on an ongoing basis in 2025.

Coverage needed :

Seeking 24-hour weekend call coverage starting on Friday's at 7AM through Monday at 7AM

Seeking weekend / holiday coverage starting in February - May; Open to what you can offer specifically

Credentialing requirements :

• Must be current / up to date on surgical case logs and have minimum work history gaps
• A minimum of 100 general surgery procedural case logs during the past 24 months
• Cases must include recent experience / work including trauma, large colon cases, and other emergencies
• 3 peer references (1 must be a residency director of chief of surgery / other appropriate medical staff chief from the last 24 months, 2 peer references from the last 24 months)
• 40 hours of CME per 2 year cycle

Coverage Details for Assignment :

Board Certification + active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license required

100% 24-hour call coverage only - no clinic / outpatient coverage needs

Bread & Butter General Surgery coverage to include level 3 trauma

Will be completing daily patient rounding (may include some attached patients) + covering the ED for new consults / emergent cases

Average # of cases vary due to the facility being located in a college town. Will see a minimum of 2-3 cases day + up to 7-8 on home game weekends.

Facility has 2 staffed General Surgeons - locums coverage is to allow them to have some time off

No mid-level support at the facility designated to General Surgery service line
