Must-Have :

Must be capable of operating Histology instrumentation.

Must be able to make sound decisions under stressful conditions and time constraints.

Must have the ability to organize workflow and communicate clearly.

Must be able to use office equipment such as telephones, fax machines, and computer terminals.

Description :

Performs routine and special Histology procedures requiring technical skill and judgment.

Follows established policies and procedures.

Assists in the technical and administrative functions of the laboratory.

Maintains strict confidentiality of work-related information.

Communicates effectively with co-workers, laboratory staff, and healthcare professionals.

Performs routine and special Histology procedures according to established policies and procedures.

Responsible for testing procedures and quality control.

Verifies specimen integrity and maintains proper patient identification.

Responsible for the proper operation of instruments and preventive maintenance.

Troubleshoots instrument problems to ensure timely and accurate test results.

Responsible for proper use of laboratory information systems according to policy.

Documents all actions and maintenance appropriately in the computer system.

Communicates information clearly and professionally to various stakeholders.

Maintains a safe work environment and follows all laboratory and hospital policies.

Completes all mandatory education and participates in continuing education programs.

Works to meet department performance improvement goals.

Engages in other job duties and responsibilities as required.

Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending.

May involve lifting or moving items up to 50 lbs.

Regularly uses finger / hand dexterity and eye / hand coordination.

Maintains good vision and hearing within normal range.

May require working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
