Job description

A hospital in New York City has openings for Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to provide locum coverage.

Opening Highlights :

Schedule : 3 days per week in ICU (12-hour shifts) or 4 days per week in OR (10-hour shifts scheduled)
Rotating call
Prefers a fully autonomous candidate who can handle radial and endoscopic vein harvesting, and is capable of first assist in the OR for open heart surgery
EMR : Sunrise
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Active unencumbered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner state license

Graduate from a fully accredited PA or NP program

One year of work experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

One year of Epic experience

Board Certified

SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

Effective interpersonal / communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.

Requirements :

COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
