Job description

A hospital in New York City has openings for Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to provide locum coverage.

Opening Highlights :

  • Schedule : 3 days per week in ICU (12-hour shifts) or 4 days per week in OR (10-hour shifts scheduled)
  • Rotating call
  • Prefers a fully autonomous candidate who can handle radial and endoscopic vein harvesting, and is capable of first assist in the OR for open heart surgery
  • EMR : Sunrise
  • Must be board-certified
  • Paid travel & expenses

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Active unencumbered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner state license
  • Graduate from a fully accredited PA or NP program
  • One year of work experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • One year of Epic experience
  • Board Certified

    • SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal / communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.

  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
