Process Technician, Battery Module, Megafactory

This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) however will be expected to work in Lathrop (CA) to support early builds and validation for the first 6-12 months. Other travel may be required.

The Process Technician supports manufacturing operations by sustaining and optimizing mechanical and chemical processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and safety. This role involves monitoring equipment, troubleshooting out-of-control processes, and resolving issues to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include qualifying new equipment and processes, managing non-conforming materials, and driving continuous improvement through yield enhancement, scrap reduction, and Lean / 5S initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Support Engineering and Manufacturing by improving and drafting manufacturing instructions, including rework procedures, and ensuring up-to-date qualification schedules
• Train Associates on new or revised manufacturing instructions
• Provide daily coverage of welding processes for smooth operations, responding promptly to out-of-control processes to minimize costs and maximize productivity
• Investigate and implement countermeasures to enhance process Cpk and product yield
• Conduct experiments and analyze data under the guidance of process engineers, including but not limited to Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)
• Lead disposition of non-conformance materials produced by the production line, escalating issues to the Production Engineering team as necessary
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives, managing parts and tools inventory, executing repairs and troubleshooting precisely according to instructed processes, and managing workload proactively with a positive attitude to assist co-workers

Expected Compensation : $28.75 - $54.44 / hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
