Arthrex is actively searching for a Multi-axis Milling Prototype CNC Machinist II. This position produces prototype parts and components by programming, setting up, and operating manual and CNC mills, laser marking, and other equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensures that prototypes are made to achieve objectives, to specifications, and to high standards.
- Ensures that all applicable operating policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
- Consults with Manufacturing and Design Engineers and other personnel regarding product information, product design and function, and material requirements for manufacture of the part(s) for prototype and production purposes.
- Reviews drawings, written specifications, rough sketches and oral instructions to plan how to manufacture the prototype and determines sequence of operations. Plans machining and subsequent operations by studying previous or similar products produced, studying drawings, materials, specifications, reference planes, location of surfaces, and machining parameters; interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Provides feedback and input on changes or ideas for improvement of tolerances, fits, and function.
- Determines materials, tooling, fixturing, and workholding required and enters purchase requisitions in the SAP systems for procurement if needed.
- Selects tooling, work holding, resources required; produces CNC programs to machine the prototype.
- Operates Prototype Department standard and specialized equipment and measuring tools to produce prototypes.
- Completes dimensional and visual inspections as necessary to ensure that the prototypes were made to the drawing dimensions and the prototype is visually aesthetic and suitable for use.
- Completes the prototype(s) to the customer’s requirements and to the agreed delivery date.
- Maintains a high level of teamwork with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, and Prototype Dept. personnel to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Maintains quality and safety standards and maintains supplies and equipment.
