Special Education Teacher Job Duties

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs

Adapt general education lessons and materials to accommodate students learning styles and abilities

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to promote student growth

Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education guidelines

Federal and State Requirements

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or related field

Active Georgia Teaching Certification with Special Education endorsement required

Previous school-based experience preferred

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
