Role Description :

American Express continues to invest in enterprise data management, and as part of the journey, the Enterprise Data Office is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the instructional design and development of training offerings that will enable our enterprise-wide data management transformation.

Primary Responsibilities :

Learning Needs, Audience Alignment & Stakeholder Partnership

Conduct learning needs analyses and gap assessments - define learner personas, and map tailored journey paths that align with data-management related role roles and skills gapsPartner with business and technology leaders to ensure the right audiences are targeted and enrolled in programs aligned to their roles and learning needs.

  • Instructional Design, Content Development & Program DeliveryLead the end-to-end design and development of training programs, from design documents, outlines, and storyboards through final delivery.

Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the Enterprise Data Office and business units to design, develop, and maintain engaging learning assets across multiple modalities (e-learning modules, workshops, instructor-led sessions, videos, interactive workbooks, scenario-based simulations, etc.)

Translate complex data management topics into clear, accessible, and engaging training content

  • Standards, Governance & QualityFormalize and standardize the end-to-end process for learning asset development across the EDO - including design documentation, outlines, storyboards, and review cycles to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across all training modalities (e-learning, instructor-led, and blended)Establish and oversee instructional design process (ADDIE) and standardsEnsure content is consistent, scalable, and follows QA standardsManage the administration and reporting of required and regulatory learning programs.
  • Measurement & Continuous ImprovementUse insights and feedback to refine learning experiences and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Minimum Requirements :

    6+ years of relevant experience related to instructional design frameworks (ADDIE) consistent with adult learning theories

    Proven ability to translate complex and / or technical concepts into engaging and accessible training content for diverse audiences

    Hands-on experience creating learning assets across modalities (e-learning, instructor-led sessions, videos, interactive workbooks, scenario-based simulations, etc.)

    Proficiency in Articulate Storyline

    Bachelor’s degree.

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Instructional Design & Content DevelopmentProficiency with additional development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and / or Rise.Advanced ability to design innovative content that engages diverse audiences and learning styles across multiple modalities (e-learning, quick reference guides, videos, instructor-led), ensuring ADA compliance.Strong writing, editing, and instructional design skills, including experience designing quizzes, simulations, and assessments.Knowledge and application of current and emerging learning and development trends.
  • Project & Delivery ManagementExperience managing critical, time-sensitive deliverables in fast-paced environments.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of personal accountability; strong self-starter with an ability to autonomously multi-task and meet competing deadlines.

  • Stakeholder Leadership & CollaborationDemonstrated ability to lead, influence, and motivate stakeholders across levels and functions without direct authority.Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and articulate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Industry Knowledge & AdaptabilityExperience working in large U.S. and / or global financial institutions.Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, using structure, prioritization, and influence to drive clarity and keep work on track.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and motivate stakeholders within and outside of your direct authority to achieve aggressive goals.

    Salary Range : $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
