Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $1,934 per week in Bismarck, ND

Job Title : PACU Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour Days with On-Call Hours per Shift : 32 hours per week Experience : Minimum 3 years License : Active RN License Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have : - Experience recovering pediatric patients - Ability to second phase patients out of the operating room Description : The unit has a total of 15 beds and operates in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2, unless dealing with pediatric patients or higher acuity cases, where it is 1 : 1. Common cases include a variety of surgeries with pediatric patients, including those with disabilities. Experience with ICU patients is beneficial; the unit can hold patients on ventilators, requiring pressors and blood products. Registered Nurses are responsible for reading cardiac strips. Staff may float to other inpatient units as needed, primarily assisting and providing support. On-call requirements include a maximum of 1-2 nights per 6-week schedule, totaling up to 8 on-call shifts in that period. There is a requirement for 24 hours of weekend call over a 6-week schedule and holiday availability as needed. The response time for on-call duties is 30 minutes. A charge nurse is available for break reliefs and may take a patient assignment as needed. The unit may have one nurse aide assisting within the department. Scrubs will be provided.
