What You Will Be Doing
The Eligibility Technician 1s (ET 1s) are the backbone of the division, as the first point of contact for clients across the state of Alaska. In this position, you will assist the public in ensuring that applications are routed correctly and on time to meet the emergent needs of Alaskans.

The Working Environment You Can Expect
These positions join a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state. The work location is in Wasilla.

Qualifications and Experience
One year of experience that included applying statutes, regulations, program requirements, or similar criteria or guidelines to process, review, and evaluate documents such as applications, programs or services, loans, licenses, and / or permits; and / or documents related to insurance or employment benefit enrollment or claims, investigations or collections, tax processing, or related work.
AND / OR Experience that included extensive person-to-person contact performing such work as explaining policies, procedures, services, or requirements; eliciting information; providing instruction or training; interviewing or counseling individuals.
Substitution : Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits : 2.67 semester / 4 quarter hours = 1 month).
At the time of the interview, please provide : three professional references (one of whom must be your current or most recent supervisor), current performance evaluation if available, and a copy of academic transcripts ( unofficial is okay; ensure institution name / URL is listed). CLASSIFICATION STUDY
This position is currently under review as part of the Public Assistance Field Services Study; therefore, the title and / or pay range may change upon implementation.
EDUCATION
To verify education is used to meet minimum qualifications, fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify education credentials used to meet minimum qualifications. Transcripts can be attached at application or provided at interview; if not, they will be required before employment.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOREIGN EDUCATION
If education is completed outside the U.S., you may use it if equivalent to U.S. education and you provide evidence from a qualified organization confirming equivalence.
WORK EXPERIENCE
When using work experience not documented in the application, provide employer name, job title, dates, and full-time / part-time status. A resume will not be used to determine minimum qualifications. If previously appointed to a flexibly staffed position, ensure dates reflect actual levels and promotions. Inaccurate time reporting may delay processing.
