A senior business analyst (SBA) acts as a liaison between business objectives and IT solutions, identifying needs, analyzing data, and driving strategy to deliver value-based solutions and improve operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include conducting complex data and process analysis, documenting requirements, creating project plans, managing stakeholders, overseeing project execution, and mentoring junior analysts. Skills needed for this role are strong communication, critical thinking, data analysis, project management, and expertise in business intelligence software and development methodologies like Agile.
Responsibilities
Identify business needs, analyze data, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Capture, analyze, document, and manage detailed business requirements, ensuring they are understood by both business and IT teams.
Oversee the design and implementation of new solutions, products, and system improvements.
Plan and estimate project tasks, manage project schedules, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Facilitate communication among diverse stakeholders, provide project updates, and present findings and recommendations to management.
Provide leadership to project teams, and mentor junior business analysts.
Lead business process analysis and optimization efforts to improve operational effectiveness and customer experience.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that solutions meet requirements and perform as expected.

Strong ability to interpret data, perform complex data analysis, and identify business needs and issues.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
Experience with project management platforms and methodologies like Agile.
Familiarity with business intelligence software, data visualization tools, and tools for creating process flows like BPMN .

Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, finance, or a related technical field is often required.
